    We are GROWING!!!  EnviroServe, a Savage company, is looking for a Diesel Maintenance Mechanic who will be performing preventive maintenance services on various diesel - and gas-powered vehicles and equipment, conduct vehicle inspections and repair vehicles, heavy trucks and equipment. We need a professional with strong personal and professional integrity. A self-starter capable of working independently or lead a team that has excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion



    The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. He or she must have the ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and must have the ability to carry out written and oral instructions and be able to meet the work schedule with dependability and consistency. Must be flexible to changes in the work schedule/extended workdays, be available to respond on short notice and have a willingness to travel out of town for overnight projects.


    Job Duties:

    • Perform heavy and minor repairs on all trucks, trailers and other equipment utilizing skills, knowledge and experience to determine what repairs need to be done
    • Maintain shop cleanliness and parts inventory, including identifying and obtaining necessary replacement parts to execute repairs
    • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns, including occasional tire replacement/repair
    • Implement a thorough preventative maintenance program for a fleet of commercial vehicles (vac trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tankers and stake bed trucks) including: fueling, greasing, changing oil and other fluids and inspecting trucks for needed repairs
    • Conduct annual vehicle inspections



    • An expert in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs. Someone that is able to visually recognize problems
    • Prepared to help with anything requiring attention with a vesting interest in operational safety
    • Must be confident in repairing suspensions, rear ends, transmissions, air brake systems, minor engine work (injectors, turbos, etc.) and more
    • Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment
    • Be able to read, write and understand English; excellent communication skills
    • Effective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors and other team members



    • 2 years verifiable experience (or equivalent education)
    • Self-motivated with own tools
    • Experience with a variety of trucks a plus
    • Class A CDL is a plus, but is not required
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
