    The Operations Manager is expected to direct, plan, organize and motivate team members in the performance of their responsibilities and duties in accordance with Enviroserve’s Purpose, Mission and Values. The Operations Manager is accountable for achieving budgeted and profitable growth of the operation.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and effectively execute a business plan (including budgeting, projecting, variance analysis, and cost management) to achieve consistent market growth year over year
    • Manage day-to-day operations of the assigned service office to ensure a smooth and safe operation; delegate and utilize time management skills; work with administrative systems and support operations to meet deadlines
    • Participate in budget preparation and monitor budget, operating expenses and established KPIs and make adjustments to processes and procedures to achieve desired performance; participate in regular P&L reviews
    • Learn, implement, teach, and execute the S7 Operating System. Direct the operation in safety, compliance, optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, efficient labor and material costs
    • Commit to teaching and promoting personal responsibility for identifying and performing safe behaviors, conditions, and environmental responsibility
    • Be a positive leader with the ability to be proactive in problem solving, making decisions, organizing and directing people, and utilizing coaching techniques for improving behaviors; set an example for professionalism and customer service; utilize strategies to hire right, train right, and treat right
    • Be available after normal office hours and weekends for emergency response situations
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

     

    • Strong personal and professional integrity; effective decision-making skills; self-motivated and energetic; entrepreneurial spirit
    • Expert working knowledge of the environmental industry best practices and associated government regulatory procedures
    • Strong leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to lead and manage people
    • Ability to critically analyze situations and problem solve within time sensitive and regulatory constraints
    • Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential
    • Strong interpersonal and networking skills to build relationships with clients and direct reports
    • Able to read and write, in English; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in using various types of computer software including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Local and regional travel with periodic corporate events requiring travel by air

    Education 

    • Minimum of 6 years’ relative operations experience (or combination of education and experience)
    • 2+ years of equivalent managerial experience in the environmental industry
    • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Services, Engineering or Business
    • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification preferred
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

     

     

    Physical Requirements

    • This position may be required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions for up to 12 hours
    • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis
    • Must be able to climb steps and ladders
    • Must have the ability to work, walk, and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time
    • Should have the ability to use basic hand tools
