    EnviroServe is GROWING!!! We are looking for team members who sill safely and efficiently drive a variety of commercial vehicles, including but not limited to vac trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks and tankers and stake beds with equipment trailers in Detroit, MI.  Drivers are cross-trained to be able to assist with on-site environmental responses. For additional information about the services we provide visit www.enviroserve.com

    Responsibilities

    • Understand and communicate the project scope and plan to team members; work with Project Managers and Operations Coordinators to assess asset needs to ensure project is completed in a timely manner
    • Continually assesses site conditions and activities and reports changes or concerns to the project coordinator, Project Manager and or customer; ensure that operations are safe and legal
    • Complete project-related paperwork and or data entry by established deadlines
    • Embrace the Savage culture; create an environment for growth and development of team members
    • Train new team members; lead by example with regard to safety, operational rules and regulations; utilize SHAPS and JHAs; correct unsafe work practices; use small hand-tools, squeegees, shovels and brooms as well as wipes, absorbent boom and pads to contain and remediate impacted soils and waters.
    • Direct daily toolbox safety meetings
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Must be flexible to changes in the work schedule/extended workdays and be available to respond on short notice; willing to travel out of town for overnight projects on short notice
    • Must exude a strong personal and professional integrity and be able to work independently and as part of a team
    • Must be able to speak and write in English
    • Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting/manual labor and the ability to work in elevated or confined spaces; willing to wear required PPE; willing to adhere to clean-shaven policy
    • Must have basic working knowledge of computer applications
    • Must be willing to follow governmental regulatory procedures, industry practices, and have a general understanding and willingness to follow safety procedures (as provided during company training)
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment, random and or post-accident/injury substance abuse screening, and obtain applicable medical examiners certification
    • Minimum CDL - Class B
    • Tanker and Hazmat endorsement preferred
    • Drivers must be knowledgeable in DOT laws and hours-of-service regulations
    • Drivers will be required to adhere to the laws and complete electronic driver logs
    • Drivers must be able to work a flexible shift with weekend work is required
    • Drivers must be able to pass pre-employment, random and or post-accident/injury substance abuse screening,and obtain applicable medical examiners certification
    • Company paid certifications , licenses, and training
    • While it does not disqualify you from a position with our company, please be aware that smoking is prohibited in all company vehicles and on many of our customer job sites

     

    Experience:

    • 3-5 years relative field experience (or combination of education and experience)
    • 1 year of equivalent supervisory experience in the environmental industry
    • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification (with current 8-hr Refresher)
    • High School Diploma / GED
    • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution preferred but not required
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
    • 1 year and tanker preferred, but willing to train the right individual.  Must be able to operate vehicles/trailers equipped with air brakes. No active violations within the previous three years
