    The primary responsibility of the Class A CDL driver is to safely operate a tractor-trailer to handle the loading, unloading and delivering procedures necessary to transport molten sulphur from multiple refineries in the Laplace and New Orleans area.


    Including but not limited to the following:


    • Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations
    • Safe operation of all equipment on the road (DOT/Company regulations)
    • Report maintenance issue to the maintenance crew
    • Take an active role in our safety program including attendance to all safety meetings and ensure safe behaviors of self and subordinates



    • Understand best practices of maintaining and safely operating tractor trailers
    • Safety conscious and understand safe work practices for a refinery and on the road
    • Be able to read, write, speak and understand English
    • Comfortable with heights including the ability to walk up and down ladders on trailers
    • Can successfully pass Savage's road test, which will include a proper pre and post trip inspection of the vehicles
    • No more than 2 moving violations in the last two years
    • No serious moving violations in the past three years including: DUI or DWI, Failure to report an accident


    • Valid CDL Class A mandatory; Tanker and Hazmat Endorsement
    • 2+ years of CDL driving experience
    • High School Diploma/GED


    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to consistently walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb
    • Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects
    • Visual abilities required to complete this job include distance, close, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus
    • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
    • Ability to perform heavy manual labor in extreme conditions such as heat, cold, dusty, wet, and noisy conditions for extended period of time
    • Willing to work with liquid non-hazardous & dry bulk materials
    • Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds and manipulate up to 100 pounds
    • Ability to work in confined spaces
    • May have ability to walk long distances
